Which scents should I try first?
If you are unsure which scents to try our sample boxes are a great place to start! Our sample boxes contain 16 different wax melt samples for you to try and discover your favourites. You only need to use half a heart wax melt in your burner and each half a heart provides up to 8 hours of fragrance, so that’s up to 256 hours of strong, beautiful fragrance in total in each sample box!
How long do wax melts last?
Our large, heart-shaped wax melts weigh approximately 14g each and stamped with our logo they stand out from the crowd! Our wax melts snap easily down the middle and you only need to use half a wax melt at a time. Half a heart wax melts should last anywhere from 6 to 12 hours.
What is the best way to remove a wax melt from a tealight burner?
The best technique to get wax out of a tealight burner is to light it for approximately 10-15 seconds and then blow it out. The wax that is stuck to the burner will release as a result of this. Hold the burner in one hand. Lightly push the wax to the burner's edge with the other hand. If you have an electric burner, turn it on for about a minute to remove the wax.
Are wax melts safe for pets?
Our wax melts are safe to use around pets as long as they are kept out of reach.
Can I reuse wax melts?
If you would like to change your wax melt before the scent has faded, but you don’t want to waste the wax in your burner, the easiest way to do this is to pop a tealight under the solid wax, leave for 2 minutes and the wax will slide straight off the burner. You can then put it to one side until you are ready to use the scent again!
How do you make wax melts smell stronger?
Our wax melts weigh approximately 14g each, they snap easily down the middle and you only need to use half at a time. To get the most out of our wax melts and the strongest scent, we recommend that you use half a heart at a time. This will ensure the wax pool gets hot enough to release all its beautiful scent.
How to use wax melts?
Here's how to use wax melts. Wax melts are fragrant wax pieces which melt at hot temperatures, releasing a strong aroma into your home. When heated in a wax burner, the solid wax melts into a pool of liquid wax. The melted wax then starts to release the strong fragrance. There are a variety of different shapes & sizes of wax melts: wax tarts, snap bars, clamshells and more. We decided to make our wax melts heart-shaped with our VWM logo stamped on so we could stand out from the crowd!
Do wax melts lose their smell?
Wax melts scent your home by releasing fragrance from the wax. Once all the fragrance has evaporated from the wax, the wax melts will no longer smell. Our wax melts are long-lasting, so you can typically get up to 18 hours of fragrance from one heart wax melt. We recommend that you change your wax melt once the wax melt no longer smells.
What causes the smell of wax melts to disappear? How can I extend the life of my wax melt?
The longevity of wax tarts is determined by a number of factors.
Because different manufacturers utilise varied amounts of oil concentration, if less fragrance is added to the mix, it will naturally be used up faster and won't smell as powerful.
Another important consideration is the type of wax burner employed. Tea light wax tart burners often burn hotter, resulting in a bigger aroma throw (as the wax heats up); nevertheless, this high heat typically leads to a faster release of the oils from the wax.
Electric burners, which heat the wax with a 'lamp' light, have lower smell casts because they heat the wax to a lower temperature. Other factors, such as utilising larger, hotter tealights, can result in a stronger perfume throw but a shorter fragrance release time.
Other factors, such as a draughty atmosphere, might quickly dissipate the smell released by the wax tart. To ensure that they last a long time, we use a high concentration of ingredients.
What should I do if I can't smell the fragrance anymore?
When the wax tart can no longer be smelt, the bulk of the scent has most likely left the wax. Before removing the wax, it should be allowed to cool. Wax Melts do lose their aroma with time, which is perfectly normal, but we make ours to last as long as possible!
Is it possible to use wax melts in an oil burner?
Each burner will have its own set of instructions, so make sure you read them carefully! The size of the dish is the major difficulty that prevents wax tarts from being used. Oil burners are frequently undersized.
Can wax melts be removed?
Most items have the potential to malfunction over time! When it comes to wax tarts, the fragrance oil, not the wax, degrades if stored properly. If the wax is kept in the right circumstances, it will last a long time!
Over time, the fragrance oil will degrade and the perfume will begin to escape into the surroundings. The wax may also begin to disintegrate, resulting in an aroma that is no longer as strong or detectable. Our wax melts are designed to be wonderful air fresheners that will really fragrance your home.
Are wax melts safe for the environment?
We feel that companies that make wax tarts with care are unquestionably environmentally conscious.
We would steer clear of wax tart vendors who sell their products in plastic packaging. Our base wax is non-toxic and safe for the environment.
For the next million years, our wax tarts will not be buried in a landfill! To be as environmentally friendly as possible, we use 100% biodegradable packaging and natural waxes. We're glad to state that we don't use paraffin wax in any of our goods. Wax melts can be reused until they no longer generate a scent. We are a terrific place to buy scented wax melts because of our commitment to being environmentally responsible.
Should wax be used to melts smoke?
When a wax melt is burning, a small amount of clear/white smoke may be visible. This isn't a problem if you're using wax tarts made with natural wax (like ours!). If you use a commercial brand that contains paraffin or lesser waxes, the smoke has been known to cause headaches and clogged noses. We don't utilise cheap waxes in our melt-making process. With you in mind, we create home scents.
This is why we always recommend using natural, clean waxes. Soy wax has also been linked to complications affecting women, mostly owing to hormonal interference. As a result, we don't create soy wax melts because we know we have a lot of female customers. We believe we have some of the best melts in the UK in a variety of scents, so come in and give us a try today and join us in melting your fabulous perfumes!
Will wax melts disappear or be completely used up?
If they were left burning for long enough, the wax tart would eventually evaporate. However, because the aroma will not be released for a long time, most people will remove the wax melt and replace it with a new one.
Burning the dish empty can cause the melter to fracture, which is extremely dangerous. Most wax tart burners do not recommend leaving the burner on after the wax level hits a minimum level. Make sure you follow all of the steps for removing old wax melts.
Can you make candles with wax melts?
To manufacture a candle securely, you must be aware of the exact amount of scent that has been added and use the proper wick. As a result, candles should not be used to make wax melts. If you buy wax tarts that you haven't manufactured yourself, you won't have access to the detailed information (such as what temperature the wax was previously heated to etc).
What is scent throw and how does it work?
The amount of aroma discharged by a fragranced product, such as scented candles and wax melts, is referred to as scent throw. A powerful scent throw is determined not only by the amount of oil used in a product, but also by other elements such as how hot or cold your room is, how small or large it is, and whether or not there are any draughts or open windows. You've come to the right place if you're looking for scented wax melts with a strong aroma throw, whether for yourself or as part of one of our gift sets.
What is a tea light wax tart burner/wax melter?
Tea light wax tart burners are often ceramic, glass, or metal gadgets with a space beneath the dish for the candle to sit. The flame is lighted after the wax tart is placed in the plate.
The wax will be warmed by the flame, which will aid in the release of the smell from the wax melt.
Due to the extremely high flame, one of the key advantages of these wax melt burners is that they function rapidly. They are also recognised for having a strong fragrance throw due to the extreme heat they provide. They're most commonly used with wax melts.
This makes this style of wax tart burner great if you want a big explosion of scent rapidly or if you prefer a stronger scent throw in general. The most common form of wax melt burner is still this one.
The biggest downside is that the tealights must be replaced frequently. Second, using an open flame poses a fire hazard, necessitating extra caution.
What are the differences between wax melts and scented candles?
Wax tarts and scented candles both have the same purpose: to make your home smell wonderful! Come in and have a look at our huge selection today!
Because the oil is heated from the melt rather than being heated 'directly,' our melts have a high aroma throw (i.e., the flame of a candle). A candle can simply be burned, but the aroma will not change, but wax melts require the use of a wax melter.
Candles can have a good perfume throw, but they frequently can't compare to wax melts because the flame burns away some of the fragrance oil rapidly. That is why wax tarts, whether purchased individually or as part of one of our wax melt gift boxes, are an excellent solution for your home fragrancing needs!
All of our melts are hand-poured and crafted with care, and they come in wonderful aromas like fresh laundry, which is an excellent air freshener.
Not only are our wax melt gift boxes perfect for the holidays! We have a variety of wax melt gift boxes available throughout the year, including our fantastic mens wax melt gift boxes! Our wax melts are perfect for personal use or as lovely presents.
Some of the best melts in the UK may be found here! We employ a wide range of aroma oils in our wax melts, giving you an unrivalled number of alternatives, and many of our customers use them as air fresheners. Simply remember to replace the oil wax when the aroma has faded.
Both candles and melts are favourites of ours! Candles can create a beautiful ambience that is difficult to duplicate. Shop our gift sets today to find the perfect present!
